Think about the unthinkable for a moment . . . emergency!

The thought alone is traumatic. But what if it actually happened? How can you help make it less traumatic?

One thing you can do is programme your mobile phone with vital numbers and information.

  • Create a 'name' file under: I.C.E. + name and number of your next of kin or someone you wish to be contacted in an emergency situation
  • For multiple contacts simply file under: e.g.
    'I.C.E.1Wife'
    'I.C.E.2 Dad'
    ....... ad infinitum
  • You could also enter any relevant medical information in the file: e.g. 'I.C.E. Type 1 Diabetes'

The Emergency Services routinely check mobile phones as a means to identify a patient, their next of kin and any relevant medical information. The first contact they now look for is 'I.C.E.' in your mobile phone's 'names directory'.

Make sure you have it in yours! It takes seconds but saves minutes and saves lives!

Chances are, it will never be needed, however in the event of the unthinkable or even just thinking about the unthinkable, you'll know you've helped you & yours and the Emergency Services to make it just that bit less traumatic.
